Picoway - Yanhee Hospital Official Website

The PicoWay laser is an ultra-fast picosecond laser that treats acne scars, wrinkles, benign pigmented lesions and tattoo removal. The PicoWay Resolve laser is a treatment on the PicoWay laser system, that uses a laser handpiece that splits the full beam into tiny microbeams.

PicoWay Resolve acts by creating tiny open spaces, called vacuoles, under the skin where new collagen and elastin are built and can transform the skin over time.

The PicoWay Resolve can treat Fitzpatrick skin types I through VI.

Every individual is different, so pain varies from person to person. This also depends on the area being treated and the sensitivity of your skin. Generally, you can experience slight discomfort during the treatment, but there is no need for local anesthetic ointment. Pain medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen that thin blood and promote bleeding are not recommended.

Patients experience low to no downtime. In some cases, patients may use a topical anesthetic to enhance comfort during the treatment. More common side effects include redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, tingling or purplish spots. These effects will differ, however, depending on the treatment you receive.

Patients reported visible improvements after 3-6 treatments, though many patients choose to have routine treatments as part of their overall skincare regimen.
  •  Immediately after treatment, there should be a“slight frosting” on the area that is treated. Erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) at the treatment site can occur and may last up to 2 hours or longer.
  • Pinpoint bleeding may also occur. Anointment (Aquaphor, bacitracin, or even Vaseline) should be applied to the treated area and covered with a non-stick bandage (Telfa).
  • After the treatment, the skin can scab over. It is very important not to pick, scratch or aggressively wash the area to prevent possible scarring. This crust should flake off in 7-10 days.
  • Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of hyper-pigmentation (darker pigmentation).
  • Use sunblock (SPF 30+) at all times throughout the course of your treatments.
  • There are no restrictions on bathing except to treat the area gently, as with any other wound
